On page Optimization refers to coding on your page, or the content & the structure of your website.
It involves effective keywords and non-redundant text created using the keywords.
Some points to keep in mind while doing on-site optimization:
- Each page should be targeted with 2-4 keywords directly connected to your contents. you can also split the contents on another page if you find the need to add more keywords to the page.
- It is very important to have keywords in the URL(Uniform Resource Locator) seperated by hyphens (-) as it will enhance your website's visibility on search engines.
- Some search engines give more priority to the beginning of the page and some index only a limited amount of body text. So try to make first paragraph of webpage more punchy.
- Use of html headings like H1,H2,H3,H4,H5,H6 is must. Content must be properly structured with these headings using effective keywords as search engines would be attracted to these keywords.
- Do not use too many keywords on a page as it can lead to spamming and may dilute the focus.
